Why is it that you are an Atheist..?

all religious books were written to give a reason for everything unknown at the time. granted, many of them are still are unknown, but on the basis that there is now proof for such things as evolution which prove wrong at least one theory of creationism, doesn't that suggest that other claims are likely to be wrong?
