From the bending moment diagram when you see at a point we have maximum bending moment,what do you infer frm t?

AT a point if we have maximum bending moment does it mean the beam takes more load at that point?how this diagrams help in design considerations?Similarly how to read the shear diagrams?WHat will be the direction of internal shear force in the beam?is that along y or z direction?
