Christians....about prayers/grace and non-christians?

My family is Christian, but my husband is an athiest. We do pray over meals at my parents' house, and at that time my husband is usually just quietly respectful. I agree with you that there is no point in pretending what you don't believe in, it's just insincere which is worse than just politely sticking to what you believe. My husband and I talked about that, whether he should go to church with me or not when my mom visits (he sometimes does go to church if my son is in the children's choir or something, more to be there for a family thing than for his own benefit) but we agreed that it would be silly and even somewhat dishonest for him to act like he cares about going to church just to look better for my mom. And my parents like him a whole lot better than my ex who always pretended to care about religion but was in fact an abusive, irreverent ... person.
