Cats and squirrels - unfriendly encounters?

My cat, now 10 months old, part-Bengal and an inveterate hunter, has her eye on the garden squirrel. Is she likely to come off worst in an encounter ? I'd rather she left the creature alone but I don't have much say in the matter. I know squirrels have formidable teeth but a cat is much larger and more muscular, is predatory and skilful in attack while a squirrel is only defensive, and a cat has very sharp claws. I should imagine the squirrel could do some damage but my money would be on the cat. I thought, when I got the cat, that she would leave wildlife alone if she was properly fed. Not so.
